Self-expression. Fine arts training. Salesianum gives young men the guidance to unleash their creative potentials.
With a wide variety of musical groups, gallery art shows, and theater partnerships, Salesianum students explore their unique talents while bridging connections with their brothers and the larger arts community.
Salesianum students explore the fundamentals of music history, theory, technology, and the mechanics of creating and performing music. Classes include traditional lectures, guest performers, improv sessions, and discussions of genres and trends, providing a well-rounded musical foundation.
Visual Arts
Salesianum’s visual arts curriculum empowers students to express themselves while exploring their God-given creativity. Participants can explore a variety of classes ranging from drawing and painting to photography, graphic design, and print design.
Marching Band
Launched in the 1940s, Salesianum’s marching band is one of the longest running musical programs in Delaware. Comprised of Salesianum students as well as musicians from Padua and Ursuline Academies, our band plays a crucial role in Salesianum’s legendary school spirit.
Theater
Salesianum’s theater typically puts on three mainstage productions each year — a play in the fall and spring, and a winter musical. Productions range from classical to cutting edge, with performance seasons reflecting the school’s annual theme. Learn more and purchase tickets to the show on the Salesianum School Theater website.
WSAL
The WSAL production club provides livestream game coverage for various athletic competitions.
Salesianum School educates and develops the whole person based on the teaching of Saint Francis de Sales, whose spirituality can be summarized in “Live Jesus.” As an independent Catholic secondary school founded by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales in 1903, Salesianum challenges young men through dynamic college preparatory and extracurricular programs to live as Salesian Gentlemen devoted to faith, community, and service.
