State Championships:  2024

The Salesianum Volleyball program was founded in 2001 when we joined seven other teams in the New Castle County area.  In our first year, we were the #2 seed in the playoffs and lost to Dickinson in the finals.  Overall, we have been in the finals 16 times and won 13 league championships.  Volleyball became an official DIAA State Championship sport in 2023, and we were the state runner-up that year.  We won our first-ever State Championship in 2024.  Coach Jeff Gricol has been the head coach since 2001 with great success and has had many notable players who have gone on to compete at the collegiate level.

Salesianum School educates and develops the whole person based on the teaching of Saint Francis de Sales, whose spirituality can be summarized in “Live Jesus.” As an independent Catholic secondary school founded by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales in 1903, Salesianum challenges young men through dynamic college preparatory and extracurricular programs to live as Salesian Gentlemen devoted to faith, community, and service.
