Saint Francis de Sales is Salesianum’s Patron Saint — and the man who inspired our school’s name, House of Sales.
Respected for his sanctity, the French bishop was declared a Doctor of the Church for his wisdom, and known as the Gentleman Saint for his “little virtues” of gentleness, humility, and patience.
De Sales wrote prolifically, including The Introduction to the Devout Life and thousands of letters to people seeking his advice. You’ll still see his quotes mentioned and highlighted across our campus — showcasing the powerful example he continues to set for young men today.

Words of wisdom from Saint Francis de Sales
“Be who you are, and be that well.”
This popular quote is the unofficial motto of the school, reflecting the way young men become the best versions of themselves here.
“Do all things through love, nothing through fear.”
At Salesianum, we believe love is the greatest of all the commandments, and the source of our optimism and joy.
"Nothing is so strong as gentleness and nothing so gentle as true strength."
Salesian gentlemen know masculinity is more than machismo — it's recognizing the power that comes with humility.
"Be patient with all things, but first with yourself."
From school assignments to sports, we believe when we let go of perfectionism, that’s when real progress can happen.
Salesianum School educates and develops the whole person based on the teaching of Saint Francis de Sales, whose spirituality can be summarized in “Live Jesus.” As an independent Catholic secondary school founded by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales in 1903, Salesianum challenges young men through dynamic college preparatory and extracurricular programs to live as Salesian Gentlemen devoted to faith, community, and service.
