SALSthon 2016 raised an impressive $131,614 for the Summer Learning Collaborative (SLC.) More than 1,000 energized teens from Salesianum, Ursuline and Padua Academies danced the night away at SALTHSON. SLC’s primary mission “Making Summer Smarter” places a keen focus on minimizing summer learning loss for low-income youth.
Students will participate in high-caliber academic, arts and athletics programs that, due to traditionally high costs, they may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy. Salesianum also remains committed to Tyler’s Camp having the resources needed to offer a top-notch experience, and is donating full use of its theater, arts and sports facilities. Students from Salesianum, Padua and Ursuline high schools will volunteer as junior counselors and coaches, while faculty and staff members will serve as camp leaders; underscoring the commitment of the entire Salesian family to serving our communities.
SALSTHON is now in its fourth year and has raised more than $395,000 for area charities.
