EntreX Lab: Igniting Tomorrow's Innovators in High School Entrepreneurship

One of the dual enrollment courses we offer is EntreX Lab–the Ultimate High School Entrepreneurship Experience. EntreX is a national program in partnership with the University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship. The students focused on entrepreneurship to develop innovative enterprise opportunities in either the business or social arena facilitated by Arts and Innovation Department Chair and Teacher Zack Robie.

Teams pitched their venture proposals in a Shark Tank-like presentation. They received valuable feedback from our judges, Brendan Kennealey '94, Bennett Thomas '94, and Fran Lutz '80, all having extensive experience in entrepreneurship. Our teams included:

Scrap to Plate-James Kennedy, Cole McCarrin, JJ Robinson, Brady Walker: Turning Leftovers into Lifelines. 

Locked Builders-Jack Igo, Andrew Tiberi, Jack Waldron: A stress-free, all-in-one renovation company.

UNI-Sebastian Hess, Erik Maier, Rowyn Nurry, Nathan Reid: Innovating the education experience, a new way to unify a student body.

The Tennis Tran–er-Ryan Miranda, Anthony Polizzi, Ryan Tran: Train alone, ace your zone.

Congratulations to the two winning teams, Scrap to Plate and UNI. They will advance to compete against other high schools throughout the Mid-Atlantic at the University of Delaware on March 7th. Good luck!

EntreX is a unique dual enrollment course offered in partnership with the University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship. It is a nationwide program that has over 500 students participating. The course equips students to thrive amidst rapid change by cultivating agile thinking and developing creative problem-solving skills through hands-on experiences. Through immersive learning opportunities, students will work through the evidence-based entrepreneurship process by pursuing a novel idea for a new business or social venture. By the end of the course, students will showcase their ability to handle university-level coursework and gain a competitive edge for internships and future employment by acquiring direct experience in innovation and value creation. After successfully completing the course, students will earn three credits for the ENTR101:Entrepreneurship Experience, an undergraduate course at the University of Delaware.
