College Board Names Salesianum A Gold School on the AP Honor Roll and Recognizes 106 Salesianum Students
Salesianum School is proud to offer 22 Advanced Placement (AP) courses this year and the prestigious AP Capstone Program. Our school was earned a Gold level recognition on the AP School Honor Roll. The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.
Additionally, 106 students were recognized for excelling in their assessments and academic performance. There were 46 AP Scholars who earned a score of three or higher on three or more AP Exams. Another 13 students were recognized as AP Scholars with Honor, scoring three or higher on four or more exams with an average score of at least a 3.25 on all exams taken. Another 32 students have been recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction, earning a three or higher on five or more exams with an average score of at least a 3.5 on all exams. There were 10 AP Capstone Diploma Scholars that earned scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar, AP Research, and four additional AP Exams. In addition, 1 National African American Recognition Awardee, 3 National Hispanic Recognition Awardees, and 1 National Indigenous Awardee earned Academic Honors. These students needed to have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have excelled on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10, or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams, and are African American or Black, Hispanic American, or Latinx, Indigenous, and/or attend school in a rural area or small town. The College Board AP Program allows students to take challenging college-level courses while still in high school. A 3 or higher on an AP Exam has multiple benefits for students, including earning college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on AP Exams, saving them time and money. Research shows AP students are better prepared for and more likely to enroll and remain in college, do well in classes, and earn their degrees on time. Each exam is developed by a committee of college and university faculty and AP teachers, ensuring that AP Exams align with their high standards.
