Nicolas Guzman '27 Earns National Civil Air Patrol Honor

Congratulations to Nicolas Guzman '27 and a member of the Delaware Air National Guard (DANG) Cadet Squadron, on receiving the prestigious Brewer Award from the Civil Air Patrol. This national honor recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact on youth in aerospace education through dedicated service.

Guzman also recently completed a solo flight at the Robert Ayres National Powered Flight Academy at Hagerstown Regional Airport, making him the third DANG cadet in four years to earn powered solo wings. Already a solo glider pilot, Guzman's precision flying earned him the callsign "Neo," a nod to The Matrix character. Guzman also staffed Georgia Wing’s Encampment, leading his team (known as a flight) to win the Honor Flight award, the most prestigious award a flight can receive at an Encampment.

The Civil Air Patrol's Delaware Wing supports youth leadership, emergency services, and aerospace education through programs like the National Flight Academy, giving cadets hands-on aviation experience under FAA-certified instructors.

We are proud of all your accomplishments, Nicolas.
