Senior Places First in Computer Competition
Salesianum student Kevin Schiavi '11 placed first in the state of Delaware in the Cyber Foundations competition sponsored by SANS, a computer security company. Students nationwide competed in online activities from March through April and scores were announced in May. Kevin is enrolled in Mr. Joseph Naccarato's AP Computer Science class and Web Design class this year.
Cyber Foundations conducts nation-wide competitions to enable students to demonstrate and develop the foundational skills and knowledge to make a difference in cyber security for the nation. Students win prizes, and gain recognition individually and for the schools they represent, their cities, and their states. Mayors, governors and members of Congress have played an important role in creating the program and in recognizing the talented young people, giving them an edge in college admissions and scholarship opportunities.
