“The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” — Vince Lombardi
Athletic Director Mike Hart ’70 welcomes you to Salesianum's school sports page. Our teams, steeped in an unprecedented, rich tradition of success, have won a whopping 117 state championships, the most in the history of the state of Delaware. In 2008-2009, 18th and Broom welcomed four state title banners to the heights of the Rev. John L. Birkenheuer, OSFS Gymnasium.
The 22-acre campus accommodates 443 vehicles in a security patrolled environment and also provides six tennis courts, two baseball diamonds, two soccer fields, a football practice field, a lacrosse field, and facilities for field events including high jump, long jump, pole vault and shot put. All of this is part of the Eugene A. DelleDonne, ’32 Memorial Park which is used for athletic competition as well as the physical education program. The varsity athletic program is enhanced by Wilmington's Baynard Stadium which is located across from Salesianum on 18th Street. This stadium serves as the home field for numerous athletic competitions. Use the links on the left to navigate through the pages and find out more about our athletics program.
