Frequently Asked Questions

The SPA realizes many school parents have questions about the Salesianum experience. Many of our members have had the same questions, or have learned the answers on their own. As a service to our members and the school community, we will maintain a list here of the most common questions, to attempt to share our experience. While the list is small now, we expect to continue to add the answers to common questions here. Please send us your questions.

How do you find out what is going on at Salesianum?

Daily Announcements - Checking the daily announcements on the Salesianum web site is a very good way to stay in touch with what’s going on at Salesianum, especially if your son is not particularly forthcoming!

The daily announcements can be accessed from anywhere on the Salesianum website using the "Daily Announcements" link in the blue banner at the top of every page.

How do I get in contact with someone in the Salesianum Community?

The Student Directory - At the beginning of the school year, each student will receive a Student Directory compliments of the Salesianum Parent’s Association. This directory contains contact information for all of Salesianum Administration, Faculty, Staff and Students.

The directory is for use of the Salesianum Students and Parents Only. We ask that you please respect your fellow Salesians’ privacy; do not distribute these names and phone numbers to anyone other than those for whom they were intended.

How do I know specific dates of what is going on at Salesianum?

The Salesianum Calendar - The calendar is available on the Salesianum website. It can be accessed by clicking on the "About Us" tab at the top of the page. Scroll down and you will find a link on the left side of the page for "School Calendar."

Salesianum operates on a seven day letter schedule (“A” through “G” days). The calendar will note each calendar day to the corresponding letter day.

How do I get involved with the Salesianum Community?

Through the Parents Association - The Salesianum Parent’s Association was formed to support the school in promoting the physical, mental, moral and spiritual education of the students. We are here to sponsor and promote programs to obtain a greater involvement and education of parents in Salesianum School, and to foster a stronger social climate among parents and between parents and faculty. Along with our dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff, the Parent’s Association is eagerly preparing for a variety of activities and school events for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year. While some of these have stood the test of time, others are new this year. We hope you will share the fun with us. Participation in the Salesianum Parent’s Association (SPA) is open to all families. Membership is automatic. Whether you have ideas for social events, can volunteer for service functions, or simply want to attend meetings, you are always welcome.

We have witnessed many times the strengthening of bonds among parents who are actively involved with their son’s school and education. Active participation garners a strong and cohesive school community into which our sons are embraced throughout their time spent here at Salesianum.

Where do I find information about School Policies?

The Student Handbook - The Student handbook can be found on the Salesianum web page. Go to www.salesianum.org and click the tab at the top of the page labeled “Current Students”. Scroll down on the left hand side of the page and you will find the Student Handbook. This will give you detailed information about school policies and procedures.
